THE ANCIENT HOUSE WITH UPS AND DOWNS OVER 200 YEARS

Despite the house No. 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc spent many years of ups and downs, nearly two centuries, with seven successive generations, with the destruction of time and historical floods, it is still solid, quiet and more ancient as a living proof in the history of Hoi An over 200 years.

The first owner of the house is a famous trader specializing in ceramic goods. He built this house for long-term stay in Hoi An and convenience of trading ceramics to many zones in Dang Trong-Viet Nam as well as for foreign traders. His wife is a laborious, delicate woman with extensive knowledge about local cuisine. She often prepared meticulously delicious meals for her husband; sometimes, she also treated her husband’s important guests with special local dishes that’s so really impressive

Today, this is the only ancient house in the center of Hoi An town managed by private ownership not allowed for visiting and tourism. The recent owner is also the legal successor of the house with pride and desires to preserve and promote not only the traditional beauty of the history of ceramic business that his ancestors left but also his family’s local cuisine with private recipes to the world. He always welcomes all visitors from all over the world to visit quintessence and excellence in each architectural space of the house before enjoying fabulous and luxurious dishes with unique Vietnamese identity. Each flavor is charming as the sincerely, rustic and simple heart of Hoi An aboriginals: "I want to tell you about Hoi An aboriginals Walking with tenderness and fresh soul along the corridor of roads In the early morning, they enjoy cups of hot green tea With delicious Quang noodle, Cao Lau I want to tell you about Lai Vien Kieu Bridge (Chua Cau) Waiting for visitors with the shadow of the river in the afternoon With the curved roof of Chua Cau is complexly carved And hundred years olds tiles are still warm with moss"
